Rope access painting
Melbourne

Hayes Height Services provides specialist rope access painting — also known as abseil painting — to commercial, strata, and residential buildings across Melbourne and Victoria. Our abseilers access every part of your facade on ropes, no scaffolding, no elevated work platforms, no cranes.

Whether you need a full exterior repaint, slab edge painting, or painting to hard-to-reach architectural elements, we get there without the cost and disruption of traditional access methods. Many building owners combine painting with anchor point testing and height safety systems work while our technicians are already on the ropes.

We work with painting contractors, strata managers, facility managers, and building owners across Melbourne CBD, inner suburbs, and all of Victoria. If you have been searching for abseiling painters in Melbourne, that is us — same trade, technical name is rope access.

Why rope access painting

Faster, cheaper, less disruptive

Scaffolding and EWPs are expensive, slow to mobilise, and disruptive to building occupants and streetscapes. Rope access painting removes all of that — our technicians are on the building and painting within hours of arriving on site.

  • Faster mobilisation — no scaffold erection or EWP booking delays
  • Lower cost — no scaffold hire, no crane hire, no EWP hire
  • Less disruption — no scaffolding blocking entrances, streetscapes, or views
  • Access anywhere — rope access reaches surfaces no other method can
  • Full compliance — SWMS, JSEA, and all documentation provided

Common questions
Rope access painting FAQs
Are rope access painters the same as abseilers?

Yes. Abseiling painters and rope access painters are the same trade. Australians often call us abseilers because that is the everyday word for working on ropes. Rope access is the technical industry term used in the IRATA training system and the AS/NZS 4488 standard. Same harnesses, same descenders, same certified technicians — different words for the same work.

Why use abseilers instead of scaffold or a boom?

Cost and time. Scaffold on a multi-storey building can cost more than the painting itself and takes weeks to erect and dismantle. Boom hire is faster but blocks car parks, footpaths and access. Abseilers are on the building within hours of arriving on site, work down the facade systematically, and pack up at the end of each day with nothing left behind. On most Melbourne strata and commercial buildings rope access painting is the cheapest method by a clear margin.

What kind of buildings do you paint on ropes?

Multi-storey commercial buildings, strata apartment complexes, hotels, schools, factories with high parapets, anything with a roof anchor or anchor point we can rig from. We have painted everything from two-storey strata buildings to high-rise towers across Melbourne. If you can stand on the ground and look up at the work, we can usually get to it on ropes.

Are your abseil painters certified?

Yes. All technicians are IRATA certified, the international standard for rope access work, and we hold IRATA Level 3 which is the supervisor qualification. Every job is planned and supervised to that standard with full SWMS, JSEA and rescue plan documentation supplied before we start.

Do you carry insurance for abseiling work?

$20M public liability, plus full workers compensation and personal accident cover for every technician. Certificates of currency are supplied on request, and builders, strata managers and FMs receive them as standard with every quote.
